A 25-year-old Macduff 1997 single cask bottled in 2023 by Douglas Laing without colouring or chill filtration for their Extra Old Particular (XOP) range.
This 1997 Macduff 25-year-old came from cask #DL17100, a single refill hogshead that yielded 280 bottles at a hearty 50.2% cask strength, which seems pretty ideal for a ‘natural’ Speyside of this age – this should be a patisserie-themed delight.

Nose: The Nose with the sweetest barely notes coupled with honey glazed fruits and a gentle spiciness.
Palate: The Palate is fulsome and mouth coating – initially anticipate custard and a thick creaminess giving way to a lemon meringue pie style.
Finish: The lingering finish reveals more of that earlier spiciness with a touch of cinnamon alongside puff pastry and poached pears.
