Benriach Peated Quarter Cask Speyside single malt whisky was bottled in 2016 after having been distilled from peated malted barley and fully matured in quarter casks.
These smaller quarter casks used by Benriach allow for more interaction between the wood and the spirit which gives the whisky a great depth of flavour and aroma in a shorter period of time, as evidenced so successfully by Laphroaig.
