Updated in late 2020, and now in revamped packaging Benriach’s 25-year-old flagship bottling is now at 46% in line with most of the rest of the core range.
The current version of the distillery’s 25-year-old single malt makes use of four different types of cask, Bourbon, Sherry, Madeira and Virgin Oak, with the latter two presumably in combinations rather than full term maturation.
Benriach’s malt can stand very long ageing, with 35-40 year old bottlings not uncommon in the past, so this 25-year-old is really only middle aged. With Master Blender Rachel Barrie in charge of the vattings this will be a superb dram.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep amber.
Nose: Smoked apricot, dark cherry chocolate, hazelnut toffee,
Palate: Baked fruit, toasted oak spice, orange and cinnamon spice, finishing with rich caramelised smoke.
