Benrinnes is one of Diageo’s Speyside workhorses, making a particularly gutsy spirit that often shows earthy, meaty notes and is therefore well-suited to sherry maturation where required.
This 8-year-old North Star Spirits Benrinnes is sherried too, coming from an Oloroso sherry barrique that yielded 214 bottles at 51%, and with those stats there’s every reason to expect that this will be a delightful dram.

Nose: Spicy oak and cardamon with hints of furniture polish and lavender.
Palate: Chewy caramel on hot, buttery Belgian waffles.
Finish: Ginger snaps dunked in sugary tea.
