2012’s Special Releases unpeated cask strength Caol Ila has everything you would expect from the previous year’s offerings: that ever-present citrus Tequila-like quality, big saltiness, preserved lemons and rich mineral and farmyard notes. The greater age and slightly lower abv also help make it a little more accessible.
