A 1973 Dailuaine 22-year-old Speyside single malt whisky bottled at full strength in 1996 by Diageo forerunners United Distillers for their Rare Malts Selection.
Dailuaine is known to most whisky fans for the sherried Flora & Fauna 16-year-old edition, and official bottlings are rare. This obscure Rare Malts edition is one of a handful of older official Dailuaine bottlings and clocks in at a hefty 60.92% cask strength, lifting the whisky’s rich fruit and sweetness. A drop of water softens this Dailuaine’s rather robust structure and reveals a delicious biscuity maltiness.
