Elixir Distillers’ Elements of Islay series keep on knocking it out of the park, and here they go again, with their 12th bottling of Laphroaig.
As ever with Elements of Islay, the details of what’s actually in the bottle – cask types, vintages etc – are subservient to the philosophy of expressing the distillery’s character, and as such are usually only available when they update their website – which they haven’t yet done for this bottling.
Mysteries notwithstanding, at this bargain price Elements of Islay LP12 looks to be a pretty good punt for anyone looking for straightforwardly great high strength Laphroaig.
