Released in late 2022, this Glenallachie 16-year-old 50th Anniversary Present Edition Speyside single malt whisky was a special edition bottled as part of the celebrations of the distillery’s owner and Master Distiller Billy Walker’s 50th Anniversary in the whisky trade.
Glenallachie 16 Year Old Present Edition was the second part of a 50th Anniversary trilogy of celebratory releases after the release of the Past Edition, which was 100% sherry-matured.
Glenallachie 16-year-old 50th Anniversary Present Edition celebrated Mr. Walker’s open-minded mastery of cask management, being assembled from whiskies that started out in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks before being finished in Japanese Mizunara oak and bottled at 48% without colouring or chill filtration and was one of the most sought-after new releases of 2022.
