Description
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 48%
Glenallachie 8-year-old Scottish Virgin Oak was released in Spring 2023 by Glenallachie as part of the third batch of their Virgin Oak Series and is a limited edition bottled at 48%.
This 8-year-old Glenallachie began its maturation in ex-bourbon barrels before being re-racked for an 18-month finishing period in virgin casks made of the Scottish Sessile Oak (Quercus Petraea) with a medium toast and char.
Scottish oak is used rarely for whisky maturation as the wood is awkward and difficult to work with, so this is a rare treat.
