A single cask Glendronach 1971 43-year-old Highland single malt whisky bottled in 2014 as part of Batch 11 of the distillery’s single cask series. This 1971 Glendronach single cask 2920 was bottled without colouring or chill filtration at full cask strength.
This 43-year-old Glendronach 1971 was one of 523 bottles yielded from single cask 2920, which was a Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon cask with a natural cask strength of 48.6%. These early 1970s Glendronachs were noticeably peatier, and after all these years in a brilliant PX sherry puncheon that’s a recipe for some seriously divine whisky. Expect a huge, earthy, oily, phenolic and fruity dram filled with wood spice, dark chocolate, balsamico and elegant notes of natural tar. A beautiful single cask whisky from Glendronach.
