Part of Glenfarclas’s ongoing alternative maturation series. This edition was fully matured for 25 years in quarter casks, a process which affords the whisky greater wood contact, but also greater evaporation and oxidative interaction. The result is a wood heavy Glenfarclas but beautifully so, with all kinds of hardwood notes, lots of menthol, spice and syrupy fruity notes. Great fun, different and hugely delicious stuff.
