Glengoyne 25-year-old was an extremely welcome addition to the distillery’s core range back in 2014. This edition is from 2022 and like the rest of the distillery’s output was made using unpeated barley, resulting in a totally smoke-free whisky.
Glengoyne famously employ one of the slowest distillation processes in Scotland and this edition was entirely matured in sherry casks, the majority of which were first fill, resulting in a sweet, spicy, rich and fruity dram with a long complex finish. A superb after-dinner whisky and a perfect complement for a mediumweight cigar.
