Introduced in 2020, Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve was the first release from the distillery to contain whisky ‘selectively finished’ in rum barrels. We’re assuming that ‘selective’ finishing means that a proportion of the assemblage was finished in the rum casks rather than all of it.

As one might expect, the rum-finish contributes an extra layer of sweet exotic fruit flavours to Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve- think ripe melon, satsuma, kiwi fruit etc – alongside the Glenlivet hallmarks of vanilla, honeysuckle, digestive biscuits and butter toffee.
