Although principally used as a producer for Ballantine’s blended scotch whisky, more bottlings of Glentauchers single malt have been emerging from the indies recently.
This is a promising one – a small batch Glentauchers 2011 aged for 9 years in Oloroso sherry butts before bottling at 47.5% in 2021 by Morrison Distiller’s Carn Mor series, which is looking great after its recent packaging upgrade. The best historic Glentauchers bottlings are from sherry casks, and this looks like a steal at the price.
