An old small batch Glenury Royal 1984 Highland single malt whisky released by independent bottlers Gordon & Macphail as part of their Rare Old range.
This 1984 Glenury Royal was bottled by G&M in 2007, so the whisky is either a 22-year-old or 23-year-old. Glenury was one of the greatest of the lost Highland distilleries shuttered by Diageo forerunners DCL in the 1980s, but very few official bottlings were released and the vast majority of the distillery’s output was lost to the blending vats. Indie bottlings are therefore also relatively scarce and Glenury’s whisky is not as well known as it deserves to be.
