The Hearach is the inaugural single malt whisky from the Isle of Harris distillery in the Outer Hebrides, which opened in 2015.
This Isle of Harris Hearach island single malt whisky is a limited edition single malt with a medium peating level (14ppm) and was bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration after maturation for at least five years in predominantly ex-bourbon casks from Heaven Hill and Buffalo Trace, with 15% Oloroso and Fino sherry casks for balance and complexity.
It’s always great to see the first single malt whisky from a new distillery, and the tiny Isle of Harris distillery in Tarbert has been waiting a long time to bring The Hearach to eager whisky fans, so we’re delighted it’s finally here at last. Congratulations to them and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
