The Kavalan Sherry Oak Matured is a small batch relative of the famous Kavalan Solist Sherry bottlings, though whereas those are full-blown cask strength single casks, Kavalan Sherry Oak Matured is a slightly toned down, more approachable malt whisky, bottled at 46% for everyday sipping.
Kavalan Sherry Oak Matured is a superb sherry-heavy Taiwanese single malt whisky that strikes a nice balance of spicy and sweet, with hints of chocolate and dried fruit. A beautiful dram and a great intro to Kavalan’s remarkable Taiwanese whisky for sherry-loving Scotch fans.
