A fascinating MacNair’s Exploration Peated Jamaican Rum from MacNair’s Boutique Spirits, the non-whisky side of Billy Walker’s operations at Glenallachie. MacNair’s Exploration Peated Jamaican rum was sourced from the Clarendon distillery in Jamaica and is bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration.
This MacNair’s Exploration peated rum is a mix of low, medium and high ester rums initially filled to American and French oak casks at 86%. These rums were left to mature for 30 months and were then blended by Billy Walker and reduced to 69% before being reracked to finish their maturation in casks that formerly held peated Glenallachie.
A remarkable marriage of Caribbean, American, European and Scottish aromas and flavours.

Colour: Golden Barley.
Nose: Lashings of pineapple, smoked plantains and cinnamon, with vanilla, butterscotch and smoked Caribbean jerky.
Palate: Bursting with ripe bananas, grapefruit and butterscotch, with mango, sugar cane, cocoa, ginger and vanilla.
