This is edition 10.1 of the very popular heavily peated Octomore bottlings.
Distilled from Scottish barley in 2013 and aged in solely first-fill American oak, this is Octomore at its finest.
Malted to 107ppm and distilled from 100% Scottish grown Concerto barley from the 2012 harvest. It has been matured solely on Islay for 5 years in first-fill bourbon casks from Heaven Hill, Jim Beam, Jack Daniel’s and Buffalo Trace.

Tasting notes
Official Notes
Nose: Vanilla led with caramel and hints of smoke but tamed back. Candied apple, gooseberry and marzipan.
Palate: Soft yet powerful and warming on the palate, peppery, barley sugar, smokey – dried earth and hints of rubber. Warm sand, sweetness of charred oak and pineapple.
Finish: Sweetness from tablet/fudge and a strong peat smoke and cold marine air combination.
Colour: Pale golden.
