Pickering’s Original 1947 gin is made by Edinburgh’s Summerhall Distillery and, as the name suggests, the recipe for Pickering’s is faithfully followed from a recipe originally created in Bombay in 1947.

As such, Pickering’s 1947 is sweeter and considerably spicier than a typical London Dry style gin. Botanicals including coriander, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves are complemented by strong citrus aromas and flavours, perfect for a seriously flavoursome G&T.

Serving Suggestions

The Perfect Serve
Ice, tonic and a slice of orange.
For a more warming drink, substitute tonic water for ginger ale.
Cocktail
Morning Pickering’s
Created by Amy Elizabeth Watson of Gallery 48 in Dundee, this cocktail celebrates marmalade – one of her home city’s greatest exports.
Ingredients
• 50ml Pickering’s 1947 Gin • 2 tsp Dundee marmalade • 1 orange, cut into quarters • Cubed ice
• Rosemary sprig to garnish
Method
Add marmalade and juice from 3 orange wedges straight into a jar.
Close with the jar lid and shake hard so that the marmalade covers the interior surface of the jar.
Remove lid, add Pickering’s 1947 Gin with lots of ice (about 3/4 full) add the lid and reshake.
Squeeze in the final orange wedge to taste and garnish with rosemary sprig picked fresh from the garden.
Get comfy in the garden; relax and sip.
