An exceptionally rare Talisker 1972 100-Proof Island single malt whisky released by Gordon & MacPhail, most likely in the very early 1980s.
Gordon & MacPhail have a track record of releasing some absolutely stunning old Taliskers from the late 1960s and early 1970s. Many of these legendary old bottlings were released at 100 Imperial proof (57.1%) and had the old Gordon & MacPhail ‘eagle’ black label and gold lettering.
1972 is a very rare vintage for Talisker, with only a handful of known bottlings. This Gordon & MacPhail Talisker 1972 100-Proof is one that we hadn’t seen before until this bottle cropped up and will doubtless be a remarkable drop from Skye’s finest.
