Description
Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: The Alistair Walker Whisky Company 70cl / 55.6%
A 14-year-old Teaninich 2008 single cask bottled without colouring or chill filtration by Alistair Walker Whisky Co. for their Infrequent Flyers series.
This 2008 Teaninich 14-year-old was finished in a rye whiskey barrel Cask 1810 that yielded 249 bottles at its natural cask strength of 55.6%. These noughties vintage Teaninichs have been appearing with increasing frequency for a while now, and they’ve been generally excellent for fans of no-nonsense Highlanders, so it’s exciting to see them now with a bit more age on them – this should be splendid stuff.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Colour: Light gold.
Nose: Pineapple, toasted digestive biscuits (think the biscuity base of a cheesecake, hot from the oven) and Pink Lady apples.
Palate: Excellent fruity sweetness – bubble-gum and parma violets. There’s a touch of treacle toffee with almond notes coming through, and then a spicy, peppery note (Szechuan almost) – but not overwhelming at all. Medium-body, good viscosity.
