Another long-aged single grain whisky from Signatory, this is from the lost Cambus grain distillery in Alloa, which was shut down by United Distillers in 1993.
This cask of Cambus dates from 1991, a couple of years before the end, and better yet, it was clearly a rather active refill sherry butt. Rescued from the blending vats by Signatory Vintage, this sherried Cambus 1991 has been bottled as a 30-year-old for the Cask Strength Collection, yielding a generous 454 bottles at a handsome 57.8%. We’re guessing that this will be a little stunner.
