An old bottle of Glenallachie 30-year-old Batch 2 Speyside single malt whisky. Batch 1 of this whisky was one of the best drams of 2021, and Glenallachie 30-year-old Batch 2 follows much the same formula, being a small batch assembled from just eight casks selected by Billy Walker including Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry hogsheads and puncheons with a touch of virgin oak.
As before, this 2022 edition of the annual release Glenallachie 30-year-old is a limited edition of just 2000 bottles and has been bottled at its slightly-higher-than-last-time natural cask strength of 50.8% without colouring or chill filtration.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Colour: Rich Mahogany.
Nose: Bursting with heather honey, sultanas and mocha, followed by waves of cinnamon, coconut shavings and dried fruits.
Palate: Lashings of dark chocolate, figs and orange zest, with treacle, raisins, cinnamon and hints of nutmeg.
