A single cask Glenlochy 1979 43-year-old bottled in 2023 by Gordon & MacPhail for their Private Collection series. This was part of 2023’s Recollection Series #2, a special annual limited release showcasing lost distilleries.
Bottled without colouring or chill filtration, this 1979 Glenlochy 43-year-old came from Cask 3309, a single refill American hogshead cask that yielded 141 bottles at its impressive natural cask strength of 53.6%. Glenlochy distillery was one of the less well-known victims of Diageo forerunner DCL’s distillery cull of 1983, and stocks are now very scarce – as far as we’re aware this is the first new Glenlochy bottling since 2015.
