From Gordon & MacPhail’s much-beloved Distillery Labels series, this Glentauchers is a small batch bottling of casks from the 2007 vintage (including some sherry casks according to the tasting notes) and was bottled at 46% towards the end of 2021, making this a 13/14 year old.
It’s fair to say that Glentauchers is one of the lesser-known distilleries in the Distillery Labels series, but that lack of name recognition makes for extremely competitive prices – this 2007 Glentauchers looks like terrific value.

Nose: Sherry aromas complement milk chocolate and a hint of vanilla pod.
Palate: Smooth flavours of stewed apples are accompanied by nougat and almonds.
Finish: The finish is sweet with lingering spice.
