A small batch Glentauchers 1997 21-year-old Speyside single malt whisky released by indie bottlers Signatory Vintage for their Cask Strength Collection. This 1997 vintage Glentauchers was bottled in 2019 without colouring or chill filtration at its full natural cask strength.
Glentauchers is a worthy but obscure Speyside distillery whose spirit is a key malt in owner Pernod Ricard’s Ballantine’s blended Scotch whisky. This one is a little older than most of the indie Glentauchers out there. It came from a pair of 1997 Glentauchers bourbon barrels that yielded just 340 bottles between them for this 21-year-old Signatory Cask Strength Collection bottling. A very promising naturally low cask strength of 47.8% suggests that this will be packed with biscuity, honeyed, meadowy Speyside flavours.
