High Coast 2012 is another top class single cask Swedish single malt whisky from the High Coast distillery in Bjärtrå, which was previously known as Box distillery. This High Coast 2012 was bottled by Berry Bros & Rudd at its natural cask strength without colouring or chill filtration.
This is High Coast’s peated single malt whisky, and came from Cask 4333, a bourbon barrel that previously held Bruichladdich’s peated Lochindaal spirit, so expect an extra phenolicity here. Cask 4333 was bottled in 2023, so this is at least a 10-year-old, and yielded a total of 243 bottles at its extremely robust cask strength of 59.8%. A must for adventurous smoky whisky fans.
