Johnnie Walker XR 21-year-old is a very special edition 21-year-old Johnnie Walker blend originally produced for the export and travel retail markets. This is the older version of Johnnie Walker XR in a squat, chunky bottle that dates it from before 2015.
Johnnie Walker XR 21-year-old is a prestige blend created to commemorate the knighthood bestowed upon Alexander Walker II, John Walker’s grandson, and is said to have been inspired by his handwritten notes on blending. Whatever the substance of that story, Johnnie Walker XR 21-year-old certainly contains some of Diageo’s long-aged stocks – and these early editions were said to include some Brora single malt whisky in the assemblage.
