An old bottle of Miltonduff 2009 11-year-old Speyside single malt whisky from indie bottlers Alistair Walker Whisky Company for their Infrequent Flyers range. This 2009 vintage Miltonduff was bottled at full cask strength without colouring or chill filtration in 2021.
Miltonduff is a distillery we’re starting to see slightly more of these days, and we like what we see.
This 2009 Miltonduff is of particular interest, having seen the very obvious benefit of a finishing period in a Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon before bottling as an 11-year-old at a mighty 59.7% by Alistair Walker Whisky Co for their Spring 2021 batch of Infrequent Flyers single cask releases.
Cask strength whisky of this colour and provenance tends not to last very long round these parts, so we’d advise you not to dally if you’re in the mood for some potent sherried Speyside.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Auburn.
Nose: Cinnamon, coffee beans, treacle toffee and juicy plums.
Palate: Full-bodied, rich and elegant. Chocolate truffles, raisin fudge and sherry trifle. Liqueur-esque.
Finish: Rich, lingering, with a touch of sweet spice.
