A 1982 Port Ellen Islay single malt whisky bottled in 2001 by Gordon & MacPhail for their Connoisseurs Choice range.
G&M must have had quite a big stock of Port Ellen 1982, as this was the first of a string of Connoisseurs Choice PEs from this particular vintage, with about a dozen or so different editions released between 2001 and 2010. These earlier, younger bottlings are always a delight, with strong smoke and tart citrus flavours on a gentle medium-full palate.
