Another excellent 1975 St. Magdalene, this was bottled at 43% in 2009 from a small batch of refill sherry hogshead casks by Gordon & MacPhail as part of their Rare Old range.
This was one of around a dozen Gordon & MacPhail bottlings of 1975 St. Magdalene released between 2003-2010, and everything we’ve tried has been superb. St. Magdalene (sometimes known as Linlithgow) made a spirit that was deeply complex, often displaying a more Highlandesque minerality than Lowland grassiness.
