A half litre bottle of Oloroso sherry-finished Glenrothes 12-year-old from Maverick Drinks’ Darkness range.
Glenrothes’ superb Speyside malt whisky ages well in ex-bourbon casks, but it’s best in sherrywood. This Darkness Glenrothes 12-year-old spent the final months of its maturation in tiny 50-60L Oloroso sherry octave casks, before being bottled at its outrageous natural cask strength of 61.1%. This will be an epic dram.
