An old bottle of Macallan 1968 25-year-old Anniversary Selection Speyside single malt whisky. There were a couple of different Anniversary Selection batches from Macallan’s 1968 vintage released in the early/mid 1990s – this bottle is one of the later ones, bottled in 1994 at 43%.

These old Anniversary Selection 25-year-olds from the late 1960s vintages show the Macallan distillery at the peak of its power in the mid-1990s, when prestige rivals like Black Bowmore were yet to really establish themselves. Macallan was still the undisputed king of fancy after-dinner whisky in those days, with warehouses full of 1960s and 1970s vintage malts slowly maturing in some of the best sherry casks ever made.
