The excellent Akashi 5-year-old Sherry Cask Japanese single malt whisky from the White Oak Distillery (aka Eigashima), home of the Akashi whisky brand. 

Not to be confused with the Akashi Sherry Cask Finish blended whisky from the same stable, White Oak’s Akashi Sherry Cask is a 5-year-old single malt Japanese whisky matured in sherry casks rather than finished, and bottled at the higher strength of 50%. A poky young Japanese single malt whisky bursting with exuberant sherry character.
