A small batch Bowmore 20-year-old Islay single malt whisky released in 2020 at full cask strength. This heavily-sherried 20-year-old Bowmore was only available at the distillery and is named for David Simson, who was born in 1742 and co-founded the Bowmore distillery in 1779.
Bowmore 20-year-old David Simson was a limited edition release of 6000 bottles sold only from the distillery on Islay, and weighs in at a perky 50.7% natural cask strength. The whisky was double-matured in two types of sherry casks, beginning its maturation with a 15-year stint in Oloroso sherry casks before a five year secondary ageing period in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks for extra depth and sweetness.
